3d printing techtip: Excessive stringing when printing PETG

Retraction distance is what determines how much plastic is pulled out of the nozzle. The more plastic that is retracted the less likely the nozzle is to ooze during move. Increasing the retraction distance by 1mm may help.

Retraction speed determines how fast the filament is retracted from the nozzle. If it retracts too slow, the plastic will slowly ooze. The range of 20-100 mm/s would normally be ideal.

An extruder temperature that is too high (PETG printing often requires higher temperature) may also be problematic. Decreasing the extruder temperature by 5-10 degrees may be helpful.
