Traditional model parts built with ABS plastic has more “flexibility” when subjected to an impact. See this one, there is a crack due to a crash, but it does not break into pieces, and that the crack can be fixed with super glue. The same cannot be achieved with PETG or PLA.
There is a reason why ABS is preferred over PLA/PETG for hobby modelling use.
